Become an RDSA Referee

At RDSA, giving back to our community is at the heart of everything we do. One of the ways we continue that mission is by offering opportunities for former players to stay involved in the game they love.

If your son or daughter has graduated from the RDSA program and is currently in high school, they can remain part of the RDSA family by becoming a referee.

RDSA hosts games for players in grades 3 through 8, running Sunday through Saturday, providing flexible opportunities for referees throughout the week. This is a great fit for students who enjoy soccer and want to stay connected to the sport in a meaningful way.

We provide:

  • Introductory training for RDSA regulations
  • An official RDSA referee shirt
  • A whistle and essential equipment
  • Flexible scheduling—referees can choose games that fit their availability

Becoming an RDSA referee is more than just a way to stay involved in soccer—it’s also a great first step into the working world. It allows students to build responsibility, confidence, and communication skills, all while working locally in a positive and supportive environment.

Please note that RDSA accepts a limited number of referees each year. If you’re interested, we encourage you to reach out early to check availability.

If you have a child that is interested in becoming an official NJ referee please use the attached link.  New Jersey State Referee Committee – Become a soccer referee in New Jersey (njrefs.com) If you ONLY want to be a referee for River Dell Soccer Association we will train you!  If you want to be certified to be a referee in other organizations you will need to go through the certifications from NJ.refs.com and the state for New Jersey.
